A Note From Our Founder

AuraMine received ‘Tech for Good’ prize at the Venture Catalyst Challenge Grand Final
Hi AuraMine Community,
What a month. October marked the culmination of our journey with the Venture Catalyst Challenge - a non-stop period of building, pitching, and strategic refinement.
We showcased AuraMine at the VCC's semi-final track heats, and while we didn't advance to the final round, something truly special happened. We were honoured to be awarded the 'Tech for Good' Prize.
For a company like ours, this is a profound validation. It’s recognition not just for our technology, but for how and why we are building it. It reinforces that our commitment to social and ethical responsibility is a core strength.
As we formally wrap up this incredible accelerator program, we are moving with renewed confidence into our next chapter: an external-facing push to build our partnerships and our team.
Best Regards,
Arielle

AuraMine Honoured with ‘Tech for Good’ Prize
AuraMine team receiving the Tech for Good Prize from Digital Policy Alliance founder Jan Dauman and advisory board member Louise Bennett
We are incredibly proud to announce that AuraMine has won the 'Tech for Good' Prize at the Venture Catalyst Challenge, sponsored by the Digital Policy Alliance.
This award is the result of a rigorous selection process, including a detailed written application based on the Tech for Good Prize Principles and an interview process. We were evaluated on how AuraMine embeds ethics, transparency, and accountability into our core operations.
Here are a few of the principles we were evaluated on and our commitments:
On Transparency & Explainability: We are committed to rejecting "black-box" AI. Our Data Confidence Index already displays prediction certainty (high/medium/low) so operators can assess when human review is warranted.
On Human-Centred Values: Mine closure planning must centre affected communities. We plan to integrate Indigenous ecological knowledge and community input directly into our AI decision-making process.
On Accountability: We will establish an independent Technical Advisory Board to review our models quarterly. Every AI-generated plan will also undergo mandatory review by licensed engineers and geologists.
Receiving this award is a powerful endorsement of our ‘Regenerative Intelligence’ engine - validating it not just as a high-growth opportunity, but as a critical tool for a sustainable and equitable future.
A Note of Gratitude
As the Venture Catalyst Challenge concludes, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to our mentors, advisors, and all the session leaders at Imperial College London.
Over the past few months, you have challenged our assumptions, sharpened our financial models, and tirelessly refined our pitch. Thank you for your belief in our mission—we are in a position of strength today because of your guidance.
On the Horizon
November's Focus
With the accelerator wrapped up, our focus for November shifts to external engagement and strategic product development. Our priorities are:
Enhancing Our 'Tech for Good' Platform: We are immediately reinvesting the full £10,000 prize money from the 'Tech for Good' award directly into our product. This will accelerate the initial development of our stakeholder accountability dashboard, a key feature that brings the award's principles of 'Transparency' and 'Accountability' directly into our platform.
Advancing Commercial Partnerships: We will continue our conversations with top-tier engineering firms and industrial operators to secure our first pilot opportunities.
Building Investor Relationships: We will be proactively sharing our progress and 'Tech for Good' validation with our key investor network, building the long-term relationships for our next phase of growth.
Join Our Mission
As we accelerate our development, we are actively seeking conversations with partners and talent who are committed to building a restorative future. We would be delighted to connect with:
Industrial Operators & Land Stewards seeking to transform environmental liabilities into regenerative assets and enhance ESG performance.
ESG & Impact Investors seeking bankable, large-scale regeneration projects.
Policymakers & Regulators aiming to create a sustainable post-mining future.
Talent passionate about applying their skills to solve critical climate challenges.
If you fall into one of these categories or know someone who does, I would love to start a conversation. You can reach me directly by replying to this newsletter or by emailing us at [email protected].
We are committed to absorbing as much knowledge as possible and can't wait to share the key insights we gather in our December update.
